Beijing: Covid-19 was born in China and spread around the world. It wreaked havoc on human life. Every country gathered with full power to protect its citizens and now China is very concerned about the safety of one of its mammals. He has increased the level of protection of this creature.

The name of this mammal is Pangolin. It is placed in first-class protected animals, like endangered species like pandas.

It was believed that the coronavirus would have spread through the pangolin. Pangolin meat is eaten in China and is also used in traditional Chinese medicine, leading to widespread poaching of this mammal.

After initially suspecting snakes and bats for Covid-19, Chinese scientists believe that pangolin may be an intermediate source of coronavirus outbreaks on humans.

Pangolin may have been one of the reasons for the Covid-19 disease which turned into an epidemic and caused a worldwide health crisis.

According to a news published on Saturday by the official newspaper ‘Global Times’, this weekend, China has announced to upgrade all species of pangolin from second class to first-class protected animals.

Other animals preserved in the first class include giant pandas, Tibetan antelope, and red-crowned cranes. Currently, all eight extant pangolin species of the world are listed as endangered species in their respective countries and regions, Sun Quanhui, a scientist at the World Animal Conservation, told ‘Global Times’ on Friday.
