10 Tips to Create Time and Space for both your Goals and your Loved ones

Let’s face it, there are only 24 hours in a day and we all have the same 24 hours. The way we spend those 24 hours will determine how much we should show them. Whether you are starting a new company, or perhaps taking an existing project or business to the next level, it takes a lot of time, energy and commitment to make this happen. But our personal relationships take the same components to function happily as well.

Here are some helpful tips to help you focus and plan ahead so you can be your best self in all areas of your life, without feeling exhausted or guilty:

1. Write down your 3 main goals / priorities you want to focus on this year

Do not include more than 3: if you have more than 3 main goals, you can become overwhelmed and expand your energy and time too much.

2. Make 2 lists: personal and professional activities related to objectives.

List all the things you do in each category, so that you can see exactly what tasks you are currently handling in each category. For example, you may be married and also start a business as a holistic trainer. In the personal column, you can indicate that your spouse expects you to make dinner and purchases in the supermarket, in addition to having quality time to relax together after dinner.

In the professionals column, your list of activities and tasks can include scheduling appointments with clients, attending network events, accounting, making sales calls, etc. plate, and that some of these tasks need to be delegated or eliminated.

3. Scroll through each list and mark each task in order of importance.

4. Use a calendar or daily agenda.

It can be an electronic calendar, or a paper one. Do not use the pen; You will have to erase things and move them to honor your need for flexibility and the ever-changing nature of life.

5. On your calendar, make actual appointments that include the start and end times to accomplish your tasks # 1

For example, if your company depends on you making sales calls, then that would be a number 1 task that you need to have a home in your calendar with real time assigned for it. Once you have scheduled all your # 1 tasks (both personal and professional), proceed to enter tasks # 2 and # 3.

6. Make your time with your loved ones a priority # 1 and program it!

If it’s not written or entered into your calendar, then it’s just a good intention … it’s not real unless it’s in the books! For example, you can plan your schedule so that your work is completed most days before 6 pm, and that all the time after that time is the designated time with your loved ones. Save this time carefully.

7. Be in communication.

Tell your colleagues, clients, friends and family what you are trying to achieve and your intention to be present for everyone, including yourself. Be honest about your challenges and stay focused on the goals instead of getting distracted by the obstacles.

There will be times when your schedule will have to change or you will have to cancel something. Do not misunderstand it, just clean it and explain it to all parties. Also, ask the people in your life what they need and expect from you as well. Do not feel pressured to be a mental reader or to please people.

8. Be flexible

Life moves, changes and grows constantly. These things happen. Do not make a program so tight that you can not make adjustments when life throws a curved ball. Give the gift of structure and discipline so you can experience the freedom it creates for you. But do not become a master of tasks, where your schedule becomes a slave controller. Instead, master your tasks so you can work smarter, not harder.

9. Be realistic and ask for help when you need it

If your goals are quite high, then you may have to set aside a lot of strange activities to achieve them. Also, you may not just have a lot of free time! Check continuously with yourself to see if you are willing to be, do and have everything that will be required to achieve your goals. You do not have to give up just because it’s hard, but you may have to correct the course from time to time to keep alignment with your true desires.

10. Keep an open mind and your eye on the prize.

You can really have everything, but maybe not all at the same time. By choosing what you want to focus on and giving each task a home on your calendar, you will begin to do more in less time because you are focusing your energy on very specific types of activity.

Prioritizing objectives, organizing your time and writing things down so that you can see everything in front of you is an excellent way to obtain clarity, efficiency and effectiveness. Being in communication with the people in your life is the key to making things work better.

And remember, it’s not about perfection. Focus on your sense of purpose and your progress, and you will create more space in your mind for new possibilities.
