Rajasic and Vengeful food
Rajasic and Tamasic food is considered unholy and destructive. During Navratri, there is a tradition of adopting a pure and simple life for nine days. Eating rajasic and tamasic foods during this time distracts you. Because they include tea, coffee, cold drinks, meat, fish, garlic, onion, egg, wine, mushrooms.
Why Onion and Garlic are left in Navratri?
Onion and garlic are considered vindictive in nature and are said to transmit energy to the body. Onion also produces heat in the body and hence it is celebrated in Navratri.
