After a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party of Madhya Pradesh called cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywoood star Anushka Sharma “unpatriotic” for marrying in Italy, another party leader has raised objections to his honeymoon destination.
The Anantnag BJP leader, Rafiq Wani, has questioned the choice of the star couple’s destination for their honeymoon.
Virat and Anushka, affectionately dubbed ‘Virushka’ by their admirers, traveled to Finland for their honeymoon after getting married in Tuscany on December 11.
Echoing the controversial opinion of Madhya Pradesh leader Pannalal Sakya, Wani said there were many other beautiful destinations in India that the couple could have chosen for their honeymoon.
“For a honeymoon, the most beautiful place that is called ‘Heaven on Earth’ is Kashmir, so they should have had their honeymoon here, then our tourism would also have received a boost,” Wani added.
Meanwhile, Virat’s colleague, Gautam Gambhir, criticizes the critics who criticize the couple, saying that “politicians should think before they speak” and that people “should take care of their own affairs”.
The couple would hold reception ceremonies in Delhi on December 21 and in Mumbai on December 26
