Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited actress-producer Anushka Sharma to participate in the government’s “Swachhata Hi Seva” initiative, saying that her presence would help “inspire others to be a part of the movement”
Anushka, who is also one of the faces of the cleaning campaign “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, wished to Modi on his 67th birthday Sunday and wrote: “Happy birthday to our MP Narendra Modi-ji. Thank you for the invitation to join the Swachhata Hi Seva movement. ”

She also shared a letter from the Prime Minister saying, “In the coming days, we will commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, an inspiration for billions across generations and borders, Mahatma Gandhi acknowledged that our attitude towards cleanliness also reflects our attitude towards to achieve cleanliness through community participation.
“Bapu also firmly believed that ‘swachhata’ is for every one of us to practice. Inspired by noble thoughts and a faith in the spirit of the 125 Indian crore, we commit to cleanliness towwards.We make sure the next days are about the mantra of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ …
A clean India is the noblest service we can do for the poor, oppressed and marginalized … ”
The letter further reads that cinema is one of the most “effective” means of achieving a large-scale change.
She also tweeted: “I am honored to be part of Swachh Bharat’s campaign and will do my best for the noble initiative of Swachhata Hi Seva.
